Forecasters are predicting highs in the upper 90s in Bangor, Maine, on Tuesday, which would set a new record for June 24 in The Queen City. According to the National Weather Service, a high of 97 is expected on Tuesday.
The National Weather Service has issued an Extreme Heat Warning for much of Maine, including Bangor. The warning will be in effect from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24.
The state of Maine is not known for tornadoes, but we do see a few each year. And even though tornadoes in Maine are generally less severe than ones in other parts of the U.S., especially the area known as Tornado Alley, they can still be dangerous.
