Can You Believe That Maine Is One Of The Least Diverse States In America?

In the world we live in today, there is so much talk about the word diversity. However, the Pine Tree State comes in second to last in this category.

There's been a lot of talk in the news about DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) and has been questionable as to whether or not it should have been enacted.

Our friends at WalletHub.com have drawn economic and demographic implications for the U.S. and conducted an in-depth analysis of 2017's most and least diverse states in the Union.

To come to their conclusions, WalletHub compared the 50 states across five categories which consisted of cultural, economic, religious diversity, household and socio-economic.

Here is what they found. 

In reference to income diversity, Alaska had the highest which is 1.6 times higher than Mississippi, which is the state with the lowest income diversity.

In reference to racial and ethnic diversity, Hawaii had the highest which is 3.1 times higher than in Maine, which is has the lowest numbers of racial and ethnic diversity.

In reference to language diversity, California had the highest which is 2.3 times higher than in West Virginia, who had the lowest.

In reference to religious diversity, North Dakota had the highest which is two times higher than in Maine, who had the lowest.
