The Brewer Witches earned their biggest win on the football field in several years Friday night when they beat the previously unbeaten Brunswick Dragons 34-27.

The Witches were led by quarterback, Logan Rogerson, who finished the night 7-of-11 for 179 yards and three touchdowns through the air. Rogerson added 124 yards on the ground, including a 41-yard touchdown run, while running back, Dylan Severance, chipped in with 63 rushing yards and a score.

Will Bessey came into the game as the leading rusher in class B North but was held to just 36 yards rushing  in the first half. Bessey only played a couple plays in the second half before leaving with a knee injury ending his night with a total of 55 yards.

A late Brunswick touchdown narrowed the gap to seven points, but Brewer recovered the ensuing onside kick to secure their win.

Brewer, Brunswick, and Skowhegan now all sit at 5-1 atop Class B North.

Across the river, the Bangor Rams fell to the Cheverus Stags, 34-14.

Following a four-yard touchdown from running back, Dane Johnson, the score stood at 20-14 at the beginning of the fourth quarter. Cheverus then responded with a pair of unanswered scores to close the game.

Johnson finished the game with 154 yards and two touchdowns. Rams' quarterback, Jeff Lewis, was intercepted three times on the night by a stingy Stags' defense.

Three total touchdowns from running back, Rylan Benedict, and a pair from quarterback, Isaac Dunn, paced the Stags' offensive attack.

Bangor falls to 1-5 on the year, while Cheverus improves to 4-2.
