With Kong: Skull Island out of the way, Legendary and Warner Bros.’ monster reboot series turns its attention to Godzilla once again. The giant lizard gets one more solo outing before its big battle with the king of apes, and we’ve already got quite a cast lined up and prepared to run away screaming from this creature, as Godzilla tradition dictates. Today, one more member, Get Out’s Bradley Whitford, has joined the cast.

The Hollywood Reporter notes Whitford has signed on for an unspecified role, and that the plot of the movie is still being kept under wraps for now. What we do know is that the film focuses on a family, played by Kyle Chandler, Vera Farmiga, and Millie Bobby Brown. Ken Watanabe is also reprising his role as the scientist Ishiro Serizawa from 2014’s Godzilla.

While we don’t know what shape the plot will take, there are a few directions this movie could go in. Now that people know about Godzilla, since the beast leveled parts of San Francisco during its battle with the insectoid MUTOs from the first movie, are the scientists from the research organization MONARCH going to go in search of it? And, since all this is leading up to Godzilla’s battle with Kong, how will the ape tie into this movie?

Godzilla: King of the Monsters is currently in production and scheduled to hit theaters March 22, 2019.
