Both Almanacs Have Completely Different Winter Predictions
It's the battle of the winter predictions from the two almanacs; The Farmers' Almanac vs The Old Farmer's Almanac. They couldn't be more different!
The Farmers' Almanac says that it's going to be a 'teeth-chattering cold' winter. The Old one says that it's going to be mild!
So who's right? According to the Portland Press Herald, your safest bet is with the Farmers' Almanac:
The almanac’s grim forecast is in contrast to the prognostication of the rival The Old Farmer’s Almanac, which is calling for a mild winter. Bear this in mind, though: the Geiger team last winter called pretty much every major storm we had and it also nailed its predictions for muggy hot weather in parts of July and August.
It calls for the coming winter to be harsher than last winter, which was a back-breaker by most everybody’s standards. If all that the almanac offered was that one shivering prediction, reading it might be nothing more than a clinic in depression for the winter-haters among us.
Yikes! The good news is that the almanac is filled with all sorts of goodies beyond the harsh winter forecast!
