Blacktop Mojo embrace the spirit of true rock 'n' roll, which, of course, calls for a classic guitar. After living out a dream backing up the 'Red Rocker' Sammy Hagar alongside Darryl “DMC” McDaniels, guitarist Ryan Kiefer was presented with a gold top Gibson Les Paul at the Sunset Room at South by Southwest.

After taking the time to admire the newest addition to his guitar lineup, Kiefer offered up his favorite Gibson Moment, explaining, "I didn't own a Les Paul until probably a year-and-a-half / two years ago. My band, Blacktop Mojo, we were recording in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, at Fame Studios and we were getting all kinds of tones, testing out different guitars and stuff like that." Naturally, this led the six-stringer to pick up one of the most iconic instruments in rock history as he said, "Yeah, I'm going to go ahead and go with the Les Paul."

Still reveling in the moment from performing onstage with the legendary Hagar (who was also presented with his first-ever Gibson Flying V) and hip-hop groundbreaker DMC, Kiefer succinctly reflected on sharing the spotlight, stating, "It was a blast, it was awesome."
