A 32-year-old man has been charged in connection with an armed robbery at the CIBC bank on Mountain Road in Moncton on January 23.

Aaron Andrew Lamore was arrested without incident Wednesday evening at a residence on Edgett Avenue in Moncton following a four-hour standoff with police, according to Sgt. Mario Fortin. Codiac RCMP had set up a perimeter around the home after the man refused to leave the building.

Lemore, originally from Ontario, appeared in Moncton Provincial Court on Thursday, and was charged with armed robbery and breach of probation. He has been ordered to undergo a 30-day psychiatric assessment.

He is scheduled to return to court on March 2 at 1:30 p.m.
