Assault in Patten Under Investigation

Around 7:43pm Tuesday a female from Patten reported being assaulted by an unknown male while in her garage.

According to the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office, deputies along with Maine State Police responded to the assault complaint at a residence on the North Road in Patten.

The male assailant reportedly fled from the garage after the attack. The female victim received minor injuries, but was not transported to hospital. Deputies and state troopers along with a K9 searched the area near the residence, but were unable to locate the male subject involved.

Police say neighbors were interviewed during the evening and have continued throughout the day. This incident remains under investigation.

The male involved was thought to be wearing blue jeans, a plaid shirt and baseball cap. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office at (207) 947-4585.
