As Memorial Day approaches, Maine State Police & the Fort Fairfield Fire Department honor those who have served.

Troop F & retirees visited grave sites of Troopers Wednesday, placing Maine State Police memorial flags in their honor.

Officials said:

Lot of good stories told from our history. It’s always a great time to get together with these guys that paved the way for our current Troopers and keep the memories alive from those Troopers that have left us too soon.

They also paid respect to two of the earliest Maine Troopers, Llewellyn Ouellette and Charles Marks who joined the force in 1925.

Fort Fairfield Police also “honored the memory of those who have served our community.”
