So I found this video on YouTube and realized this is my life.  How many times has this happened to you?  Or are you one of those people so glued to your device that you are completely rude to the people you’re standing next to and supposedly having a conversation with?

I was once on road trip with one of my best friends.  He was in the passenger seat texting while we were talking.  How do I know that you’re invested in this conversation as much as I am when you’re sharing your attention with someone else?  Recently, 3 friends and I went out to eat at a restaurant.  If I even HAD a smart phone, I might have taken a picture of the three of them all looking at their phones at the same time, barely taking time to make eye contact.

I have a company cell phone.  If I didn’t, I wouldn’t want one.  It is the way of the world however, and most people find the economics of having a cell phone over a land line more attractive.  Practicality wins in this situation.  But what does this say for our social well-being?  When did being rude become normal?

Disagree?  Text me!  Or leave a message on my ‘social’ media page.
