A 49-year-old Caribou man was arrested Thursday morning for an outstanding warrant after police assisted the Department of Health and Human Services regarding a child custody issue at the Teague Park School.

Police said Alexander Medina was encountered outside of the school and arrested without incident around 11:40 a.m.

Caribou Police Chief Michael Gahagen said as a precautionary move, the school went in lockdown. The incident was over within a matter of minutes and there was no imminent threat to the students or staff.

Medina’s bail was set and his first court appearance scheduled for January 9, 2020.
