The RCMP has arrested and charged a suspect in connection with multiple gas thefts and possibly a stolen vehicle. See updated story here

The West District RCMP is asking for the public's assistance in identifying a person of interest as part of an investigation into a stolen vehicle and thefts of gas.

Sometime overnight on April 23, 2018, a 2015 black Chevrolet Silverado truck with New Brunswick license plate NEV 254 was stolen from the driveway of a residence on Route 103 in Wakefield, N.B.

The stolen vehicle was involved in three thefts of gas incidents. One occurred on April 23, 2018, at approximately 2 a.m., at the Ultramar on Highway 190 in Carlingford, N.B.

The stolen vehicle was also captured on security footage from the Petro Canada gas station on Highway 550 in Hartford, N.B., where a theft of gas occurred on April 23, 2018, at approximately 5:20 a.m.

Another theft of gas occurred at the Mads Truck Stop on Highway 625 in Lake George, N.B., on April 25, 2018, at approximately 10:27 p.m.

Police are seeking to identify a man observed in security footage. He is described as approximately 30-40 years of age with a slim build and dark hair.

Anyone with information about the stolen truck, the thefts of gas or who can identify the person of interest in the photo is asked to contact the Woodstock RCMP Detachment at 506-325-3000.
