Unbeknownst to a Woodstock-area man, lurking in the depths of his pickup's glove compartment, sat a winning lotto ticket worth nearly $300,000.

Randy McElroy of Campbell Settlement could have been swimming in his winnings a bit earlier. The ticket he turned in was from the draw on over a month ago. McElroy says the winning Lotto Max ticket had been in the glove box of his truck for weeks, and he hadn't rushed to check it since he’d heard that someone had already claimed the prize. McElroy says he even considered just throwing his ticket out, but decided to have it checked at a local store.
