A woman was seriously injured Tuesday morning after a crash with a logging truck in Long Pond Township near Jackman. The accident happened around 8 am on Route 15.

Woman Hit Axle of Logging Truck’s Trailer

Authorities said the woman crossed the centerline and collided with the front axle of the truck’s trailer. Her name and age was not released.

Driver Extricated from Vehicle and Flown by LifeFlight

The woman had to be extricated from the vehicle by Jackman-Moose River Fire and Rescue. She was flown by LifeFlight to a Bangor Hospital, according to the Morning Sentinel.

Truck Driver Not Injured

The truck driver was not injured. Name and age were not released.

Crash Under Investigation

The road was closed for several hours as the crash site was cleared. The Somerset County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash with the Maine State Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit.
