State Police say that around 8:30 Saturday morning, 32-year-old Angela Jordan was driving her 2004 GMC Yukon north on Route 1 in Bridgewater.

20-year-old Taylor Jameson of Monticello had parked a loaded potato truck on the right shoulder of the highway with his turn signal activated, checking the truck for a flat tire.

State police say Jordan was using her cell phone which caused her to be distracted.  The SUV drifted into the breakdown lane and struck the rear end of the potato truck.

Jordan was taken to The Aroostook Medical Center in Presque Isle with serious but not life-threatening internal injuries.  Police say she was wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash.

Jameson was not in the truck when it was struck and was not injured.

Jordan’s vehicle is considered a total loss and the potato truck, owned by Good Farms, Inc. sustained serious damage to the rear axles, frame and bumper.

Maine State Police Trooper Dennis Quint, Sgt. Chad Fuller and Lt. John Cote responded to the accident. The Bridgewater Fire Department and Maine Warden Service assisted at the scene.
