Australia Rallies Past Bronco-Hermon 7-6
(3-1) Australia 7 def. Bronco-Hermon 6 (2-1)
Australia stun the hosts by rallying from a 6-2 deficit in the 7th inning to win 7-6 in walk-off fashion.
Australia trailed the entire game and didn't take their first lead until the final play of the game.
Trailing 6-5 with the bases loaded and one out in the 7th inning, Australia scored the tying and winning runs on a fielder's choice. A ground ball to third base resulted in a 5-to-4 putout at second base, but Australia's, Jack Dunn, came home on the play, scoring all the way from second base to give his side a spot in Saturday's world championship.
Alex McKenney got the scoring started for the hosts with an RBI double in the first inning and finished the contest 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored. Alex Applebee added two hits and a pair of runs scored at the plate in the losing effort.
Bronco-Hermon's SLWS run ends at 2-1.
Saturday's championship game will be a rematch of last Monday's 13-8 win for Illinois over Australia, the Asia-Pacific representative's only loss of the tournament.
