A man lost his home and belongings in a fire late Sunday night in the rural community of Divide, New Brunswick, about 30 kilometres northeast of Florenceville-Bristol.

Firefighters responded to the blaze on the Divide Road around 10 p.m.

Disaster volunteers with the Canadian Red Cross assisted Monday with emergency purchases  including clothing, food and personal-care items, according to spokesman Dan Bedell.

The man is staying with a relative for now.
