Just after bassist Flea called Donald Trump a “reality-show bozo,” Red Hot Chili Peppers performed at a fundraiser in L.A. for the GOP presidential candidate’s Democratic opponent Bernie Sanders.

RHCP endorsed Sanders all the way back in September, and they showed their support for the Vermont senator's campaign with a career-spanning set that included a cover of David Bowie’s “Cracked Actor.” In fact, Chad Smith geared up for the gig by transforming his drumhead with an inspired piece of artwork that reimagines Sanders as Aladdin Sane. That can be seen below, along with a clip of the Chili Peppers’ Bowie cover and more videos from the performance (via Alternative Nation).

Red Hot Chili Peppers are currently finishing up their follow-up to 2011’s I’m With You with producer Danger Mouse.
