UMaine sophomore Molly Flowers threw a five inning no-hitter vs UMass Lowell as the Black Bears beat the River Hawks 8-0 Friday afternoon. Flowers now has two no-hitters this season.

In the Black Bears home opener, Flowers struck out 11 while walking just three.

Alyssa Derrick led Maine's offense with three hits and four RBI.

The win makes the Bears 13-13. UML drops to 5-27.

The weekend series resume with a Saturday doubleheader starting at noon.
