One thing that's certain is the University of Maine football team will open the season Saturday at Boston College. What isn't certain is who will start at quarterback. For the second year in a row Dan Collins and Drew Belcher have battled for the starting job in preseason, and for the second year neither one has seemingly been able to distance themselves form the other.

With only four practices remaining until the opening kickoff, Coach Jack Cosgrove has yet to name a starter but did indicate to the Bangor Daily News that using both players in the game could be a possibility.

During a media day interview with 92.9 The Ticket, Cosgrove said because of similar skill sets a rotation of the two was not likely. However, competition during training camp might be so close that game performance might ultimately determine who goes under center for the long term.
