The University of Maine baseball team blew a 3 run lead late and lose to New York Institute of Technology 8-6.The loss completes a 4-game series that results in a split with the Bears winning the first two games before dropping the last two. UMaine's record is now 19-24 on the season.

The Bears jumped out to a 6-3 lead after the first five innings thanks to a Brian Doran 3-run homer and a Scott Heath solo shot.

The next inning saw NYIT put up a 4-run inning to take the lead for good.

Defense continue to be an issue for Maine as two errors led to a couple of unearned runs.

The Bears return home this weekend for three games against Binghamton at Mahaney Diamond.
