UM Men,Women Drop Games

A tough Sunday for UMaine basketball teams - the women's team lost at the Cross Center to Sacred Heart 59-58.

The UM  men's team lost on at the Central Michigan Tournament to Valparaiso 90-73.

In Bangor, the Black Bear women's team got themselves into a back and forth game with Sacred Heart and it came down to the last two plays.

Hannah Kimmel scored the game winner with five seconds left for the Pioneers. She led them in scoring with 28.

After a timeout, Maine's Sigi Koizar had a runner to the hoop that rimmed out and the Bears fell by one point.

Maine is 1-3. Sacred Heart is 3-0.

In Michigan, the Maine men's team lost to Valparaiso 90-73 in a Sunday morning game.

Valpo shot 53% from the floor. The Bears turned the ball over 24 times.

Alec Peters led Valpo with 31. Shaun Lawton had 16 for Maine.

The Bears drop to 0-4. Valpo is 4-1.
