Two teens have been arrested after police in Bathurst recovered a vehicle that was reported stolen in Plaster Rock early Tuesday morning.

A Bathurst police officer spotted the suspect vehicle around 5 a.m. Tuesday. Police said the vehicle led officers on a short chase along several streets. The two occupants got out of the vehicle and fled on foot but were apprehended by police minutes later.

A 16-year-old boy from Perth-Andover, and an 18-year-old man from the Saint John area were arrested. Police say the two had recently been released from the youth correctional facility in Miramichi, New Brunswick.  They were returned to the correctional facility to serve the remainder of their sentence.

Both will be appearing in court at a later date to face multiple charges.
