The crash occurred around 3:30 p.m. on Route 585 in Grafton, about one kilometer from the Grafton Bridge, which crosses the Saint John River.

Police say Alan Kenneth Green died as a result of his injuries after the car he was driving crossed the center line and crashed into a half-ton pickup truck.

A 27-year-old female passenger of the car was transported to hospital with serious injuries.  Woodstock Fire Chief Ricky Nicholson said the Jaws of Life were used to remove the woman from the car. The driver of the truck was not hurt.

The crash shut down one lane of Route 585 in Grafton for about 1 1/2 hours. Both vehicles were totaled.

Woodstock RCMP Cpl. Andy Munro says the investigation into the crash is ongoing but charges are not anticipated.
