Two People Die in Fredericton Area Crash

Police say an elderly man and woman died in a single-vehicle crash Saturday in Nashwaak Village, N.B.

Keswick RCMP and emergency personnel responded to the crash on Route 148 around 5:30 p.m.  Police say the vehicle missed a curve in the road and continued straight into the ditch.

Both occupants, from Durham Bridge, an 80-year-old man and a 79-year-old woman, died at the scene as a result of their injuries, according to a news release from Cpl. Jullie Rogers-Marsh.

Traffic was diverted for approximately three hours following the crash.

The investigation into the cause is continuing, Rogers-Marsh said on Sunday.
