Two men from the Perth-Andover area are dead following a crash involving a car and a large passenger van Wednesday afternoon in Summerfield, New Brunswick .

RCMP and emergency personnel responded to the head-on collision on the Back Greenfield Road at around 4 p.m., according to Sgt. J.P. MacDougall of the Woodstock Detachment.

Two men, ages 51 and 55, were in the car and died as a result of their injuries. Four people in the van suffered non-life threatening injuries, police said.

An RCMP collision reconstructionist was called to the scene Wednesday to assist with the investigation.

Road conditions and visibility were poor at the time of the crash, MacDougall said. Heavy fog was reported in the area.  The identities of the victims have not been released.

The investigation is continuing.

**An earlier police report stated five people in the van were injured, instead of four.
