Maine State Police were called to the crash around 5 a.m., according to Corp. Chuck Michaud. The investigation revealed that 49-year-old Mark Theriault of Ashland was traveling north on Route 11 in a 2009 Freightliner that was loaded with logs. Police say Theriault failed to negotiate a turn and the tractor-trailer went off the roadway and flipped over onto its side, spilling its load.

Neither the driver nor his passenger, 19-year-old Nicholas Theriault of Fort Kent, was injured in the crash. Police say both were wearing seat belts. Route 11 in Wallagrass was shut down for approximately one hour while the logs and truck were removed from the scene.
