More than 200 years of service to higher education in Aroostook County were recognized recently at Northern Maine Community College.

The college honored 12 employees who have reached milestones of employment to the campus.

Over 70 employees and college retirees gathered for a luncheon to recognize faculty and staff members, five of whom have been with NMCC for more than a quarter of a century.  Academic Dean, Dr. Dottie Martin, led the recognition event which featured touching and humorous tributes to the honorees by their fellow colleagues.

Three NMCC employees had the distinction of reaching 30 years of service at the College.  Cindy Albert of Presque Isle, Joe McLaughlin of Limestone and Tom Richard of Presque Isle

Marking a quarter century of service to NMCC were David Raymond of Presque Isle, and JP Levasseur of Caribou.

The twenty-year honor was presented to Leah Buck of Mapleton.  Greg Thompson of Washburn was recognized for 15 years of service.  Marking 10 years of service was Dennis Dyer, of Presque Isle.

Four employees were honored for five years of service: Beth Hummel, of Ashland, Starr Flewelling or Presque Isle, Eric Pelkey of Presque Isle and Rick Taggett of Woodland.
