Two Aroostook County High Schools Ranked Among Top in U.S.
Two Aroostook County high schools appear on the 2015 U.S. News and World Report’s list of the best high schools in the country.
Presque Isle High School and Madawaska Middle/High School were among the top 2000 schools nationwide, based on student's performance on state assessments in reading and math, student-teacher ratios, and how well the high schools prepare students for further education by offering a college‐level curriculum.
Three Maine schools received a gold medal on the U.S. News & World Report annual ranking: Yarmouth High School, Falmouth High School and Cape Elizabeth High School.
Fourteen other schools in the state, including Presque Isle (MSAD #1) and Madawaska, were awarded a silver medal.
