Deputy Sheriff Vance Palmer responded to the single-vehicle crash on Route 2. The driver, 60-year-old Colin Smith, of Chester, apparently lost control of his 2003 Ford F-250 when the truck tires got caught up in slush.

The snowplow on the truck caught the frozen snow bank and the vehicle rolled up over the bank, striking a utility pole, according to Sheriff Darrell Crandall. The truck ended up on its side. Smith was wearing his seat belt and was not injured, Crandall said.

The utility pole was destroyed. The truck did receive some damage and was towed.
