Troop F Weekly Police Report October 6-12, 2014

Here's the latest weekly report from Troop F of the Maine State Police, based in Houlton:

Oct. 6 - Trooper Levesque responded to Connor after receiving report of a female reporting that she was holding a gun to the head of her friend. After investigation, Trooper Levesque determined that the females did have a verbal family fight and that the gun threat was a hoax and had never happened. During investigation Trooper Levesque did discover that both females had protection orders against each other and he arrested both females for violation of the protection orders.

Oct. 6 - Trooper Levesque responded to Mapleton for a report of a family fight between a mother and her 14-year-old son. After investigation son was charged with criminal threatening and assault after it was determined that he had threatened the mother with a BB gun and a knife.

Oct. 7 - Trooper Lilley responded to Island Falls after neighbor reported seeing a male subject inside a vacant residence. Trooper Lilley located the male at a nearby house and had detained him after male gave him a false name and information and was not forthcoming with information. While Trooper Lilley was speaking to other witnesses to determine the male’s identity and if he was the one in the abandoned house, the male was able to get out of Trooper Lilley’s car and flee into the woods. A subsequent air and ground search took place over the next several hours and the male was later located as he returned to a friend’s house a short distance away. Male was arrested and charged with burglary, escape and failure to provide correct name and investigation into the entry into the abandoned house is continuing.  Click here for full story.

Oct. 7 - Trooper Casavant assisted ICE with a detail as part of the new Human Trafficking Task Force.

Oct. 9 - Troopers Saucier and Sylvia were called to a residence in Island Falls twice in one night for a family fight between a man and his 20-year-old son. The second call the son returned and was now in the garage threatening suicide. The man went voluntarily to Houlton Regional hospital for an evaluation.

Oct. 9 - Trooper Darcy stopped a vehicle in Oakfield for speeding and an obstructed view. Trooper Darcy detected the odor of marijuana. During the search of the vehicle, Trooper Darcy located multiple marijuana pipes and a small amount of marijuana. As a result, Trooper Darcy summoned the operator and a juvenile passenger for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Oct. 9 - Trooper Bell was called out at 0230 hours for the report of a possible OUI. Border Patrol agents found a vehicle idling on a field road in Littleton, and the male driver was unresponsive in the driver’s seat. Trooper Bell arrived and performed field sobriety tests. The driver was 20 years old and found to be in violation of his provisional license. The male was taken home and charged with Illegal Transportation by Minors due to an open container of beer being in the vehicle. The Secretary of State is being notified of the offense.

Oct. 10 - Trooper Darcy stopped a vehicle in Oakfield for failing to display a front registration plate. As a result of the traffic stop, Trooper Darcy charged a female from Danforth with Operating without a license.

Oct. 10 - Trooper Doody summonsed a 23-year-old Caribou man for driving with an expired license.

Oct. 11 - Trooper Sylvia charged a 17-year-old Danforth woman with criminal speed on Route 1 in Orient.

Oct. 11 - Trooper Doody was called out to a single vehicle crash in New Canada where the operator fled the scene. The female was later located and charged with filing a false report. Additional charges are pending.

Oct. 12 – Trooper Turcotte responded to Bridgewater for a complaint of an armed home invasion and threatening. The investigation lead to a Smyrna man being arrested, and Ludlow man being shot and killed during an armed confrontation with Troopers. Click here for full story.
