The top-seed Southern Aroostook Warriors rolled over No. 9 Greater Houlton Christian Academy Monday at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, earning a bid into the Class D North semifinals.

The veteran Warriors squad pressed the relatively inexperienced Eagles from the outset, turning turnovers into points and running away to an 73-50 quarterfinal win.

With Southern Aroostook up by 38 points heading into the fourth quarter, both teams allowed their younger players on the floor. Greater Houlton Christian did have their fans cheering in the fourth quarter as their reserves closed the gap with the Warriors.

Southern Aroostook improves to 18-1 with the win and earns a date with rivals Central Aroostook in the semifinals. The Warriors defeated Central Aroostook during the regular season.

Senior Jackson Mathers led the Warriors with 28 points. Nolan Altvater added 20 points.

Sophomore center Isaac Potter led the Eagles with 14 points.

Greater Houlton Christian Academy finishes the season at 9-9.
