Maine State Police says Trooper Adam Bell responded to a tractor trailer crash on Rt.1 in Orient just before 7:30 Monday evening.

Police says Timothy Brown, age 49, of Presque Isle was traveling northbound on Rt. 1 in Orient when he drifted to the right shoulder his right side tires got caught in snow on the shoulder, pulling the unloaded tractor trailer off the right side of the road.

Police say Brown traveled into the ditch, striking several trees and coming to rest down the steep embankment and into the trees.

Brown complained of knee pain from the crash but did not need medical treatment.

The 2002 Sterling tractor trailer owned by Brown sustained major damage in the crash and had to be towed from the scene by Westerdahl’s Towing service.

Speed is not a factor in the accident, according to police
