Police have arrested two women and a man following a pair of drug searches on Sunday in Miramichi and Lower Newcastle, N.B.

The RCMP’s Northeast District Crime Reduction Unit along with members from the Miramichi Police Force, executed search warrants at a home on Kierstead Drive in Miramichi and another home on Feron Street in Lower Newcastle.

Police say they seized what is believed to be prescription pills, methamphetamine tablets and crystal meth. Firearms, drug paraphernalia and an undisclosed amount of cash were also confiscated.

A 38-year-old man and 36-year-old woman from Miramichi were arrested at the home on Kierstead Drive. A 34-year-old woman was arrested at the home on Feron Street.

All three were released by the RCMP on a promise to appear in court at a later date. The man, however, was held by the Miramichi Police Force pending a court appearance on an unrelated matter.

The investigation is ongoing.
