Thompson Leads Maine Junior Amateur Golf

75 of the top young golfers in Maine, age 13 through 17, are competing for the 2016 Maine Junior Amateur Championship at Val Halla Golf Course in Cumberland.

Logan Thompson from Lincoln is the round one leader after shooting a +1 (73). Thompson won the Class C high school individual golf title back in October.

Past winners include well known Maine players such as Mark Plummer, Jesse Speirs, Shawn Warren and Ryan Gay.

The championship is a two-day event.
