Come support local Maine film this week at the Maine Mayhem Film Festival!

5 films made by the students of Southern Maine Community College will be shown in Portland on Thursday May 12th at the Nickelodeon Cinema on Temple Street, and Saturday May 14th at Central Gallery in Bangor.

The Maine Mayhem Film Festival is an annual film festival produced in coordination with senior students in Southern Maine Community College’s Communications and New Media department. Seating at these events will be limited, so make sure you get tickets soon!

According to a recent post on the Maine subreddit, the films that will be shown at the festival include:

"Waters" is coming of age story looking at the hardships of losing loved ones and the importance of having meaningful bonds.

"According to No Plan" tells the story of a 30-something drifter named Vincent who shows up unexpectedly at his older sister's isolated house in the country, intent on staying there while he attempts to confront a nearly 20 year-long battle with alcoholism".

"Alone Together"
On the day the world ends, David and Beth are alone. So how well can you get to know somebody when you only have 15 hours left to live?

"White Skies" follows Brad and Jason, two friends, as they stumble upon the site of an alien spaceship crash. When they finally realize what they've stumbled upon, a being from another world makes the two go though a series of disorienting and hellish events, until they are taken. Will you be next?"
