Fawcett's Art, Antiques & Toy Museum in Waldoboro, Maine is a whimsical attraction for kids and adults alike.

The old white farm house looks pretty unassuming from the outside with the exception of the welcoming sign hanging from a post. The mustached man's beard on the sign says FUN so you know it'll be a good time.

Fawcett's website says:

Inside is an extensive collection of antique toys and original comic art that is among the finest on public display anywhere in the world. You will see Mickey Mouse and all his friends as they were originally crafted in the 1930s. We have one of the finest collections of Lone Ranger art, toys and memorabilia in the world.

Although it's a museum of toys, the display is more than just for kids. It's for the kids at heart, too. Fawcett's says, "A visit to our museum has always been enjoyed by curious, intelligent adults."

Some of the notable exhibits at Fawcett's Art, Antiques & Toy Museum include memorabilia from Christmas Story, like the original Daisy air rifle and the special Christmas Story gun with the sundial and the compass, The Lone Ranger's Parade Saddle, and the original Disney Fantasia animation art.

Make a special trip to Waldoboro to see the impressive display of art, antiques, and toys. Fawcett's Museum is open Memorial Day to Columbus Day, from 10 AM to 4 PM, closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays. From Columbus Day until Christmas, the museum is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 12 PM to 4 PM.
