Mild temperatures on Tuesday should help what's left of two early November snowstorms melt away just in time for another blast of winter.

Forecasters say the third significant storm this month could dump up to a foot of snow in some parts of Maine and New Brunswick between Wednesday afternoon and early Thursday morning.

A winter storm watch is posted from Houlton southward with 7-11 inches of snow possible in southern Aroostook County by Thanksgiving day.  Snowfall totals in northern parts of the state and province are expected to be in the 3-7 inch range, still enough to make holiday traveling a challenge.

The National Weather Service says snowfall totals at Caribou so far this month have measured 18 inches, most of which will have disappeared before the Thanksgiving eve storm arrives.
