The Crown of Maine Balloon Fest celebrates its 15th year with 15 hot air balloons, August 23 – 26^th.

Townsquare Media is broadcasting live from the annual event, Thursday, August 23rd, Friday the 24th, and Saturday the 25^th. We’ll be there from 5-7 pm each evening. We’ll give you updated info on the conditions for flights. Listen on the radio, online and our app. If you’re finding a place around town to watch the balloons, we’ll be your eyes and ears to let you know what’s happening in the field.

There are so many things planned this year at the Crown of Maine Balloon Fest. The flights are scheduled to take off from the Northern Maine Fairgrounds in Presque Isle. The vendors have great items to sell and you can fill up on all the food. Wireless Zone of Maine, Presque Isle has backpacks to give away too.

The theme for Thursday’s street fair and block party is “New Energy on Main Street”. The festivities start at 4 pm and go until 10:00 pm. Dance to the music, shop downtown and order some food. There are plenty of things for the kids to do. Maine Street is closed to vehicular traffic during this time.

There’s music behind the Forestry Building - Tennessee Haze plays on Thursday. No Pressure on Friday. The Kid’s Karnival on Saturday is a lot of fun and the Family Fun on the Field is all set and ready to go for Saturday too.

Make sure you have your cameras ready for the balloon glow at dusk each night. Mass ascension is 5:30 am in the morning and 5:30 pm at night.
