There's no denying it. Summer is coming to an end. We've reached Labor Day weekend and if you pay attention, some leaves are already changing color. Soon the entire state will come alive with the sights of red, brown, yellow, and orange leaves...

According to the state's official website at www.Maine.gov, six out of the seven "foliage zones" of the state are in peak color right now.

A Fall Foliage Paddle will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, October 4th at Grand Lake Stream.

With the official arrival of autumn ushering in cooler temperatures, the Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation & Forestry reports 15-20 percent color change and very low leaf drop in northern Maine.

Today is the official start of Maine’s fall foliage season and even though the weather resembles July’s, it is time to start planning for the upcoming fall season.
