Happy Canada Day to our neighbors to the North and, in our case, the East. In doing a bit of research for today's show I found a list of Canadian rock bands that surprised me. There are a lot that I knew were from the 'Great White North,' but a lot that I didn't.

On today's show we pondered the question of whether there are bands out there that should have or could have stopped recording at their peak. We took a little bit of flack for saying Def Leppard, but we expected that. Here are some other bands or artists you thought might have been okay if they had moved on a long time ago.

Doug and I were talking on the show yesterday about bands that could have or should have stopped at a certain point, yet chose to keep making music. Who are we to say when someone's peak is or was or why anyone would want to stop making a living at something they love and were probably born to do, but in a strictly trivial way we thought we'd ponder the thought.

It's no secret I'm an 80s kid. I bring it up all the time. On the way to work I heard the Robert Palmer song 'Addicted to Love.' I thought about where I was and what my life was about when that song first came out. My thoughts wandered, as they often do when I'm driving, to other music of that era and how it was categorized.
