Forest rangers and firefighters from around the state were kept busy battling a slew of wildfires over the Easter weekend.

Crews say, once the snow melts, areas of dry, dead grass can catch fire quickly.

Crews responded to fires in Winslow, Standish, Charleston, Milbridge, East Machias, Alfred, Waldoboro, Surry, Lewiston, and Bradford.

Luckily, no one was injured in any of the weekend wildfires.

Rangers caution that people should be careful lighting outdoor fires as well as disposing of stove embers, especially this time of year.
