The Red Sox are doing what they need to do this weekend - win games vs the lowly Chicago White Sox. Saturday night a 4-1 victory that extends their winning streak to five games.

Drew Pomeranz gave up a solo home run to Tim Beckham on the second pitch of the game and then settled in. He pitched 6.1 innings. giving up a run on seven hits and a walk. Pomeranz struck out eight. He is now 11-4 with an ERA of 3.36.

Craig Kimbrel worked the 9th inning to get his 26th save.

On the offensive side, it was two big blows. A two-run homer from Andrew Benintendi and a two-run homer from Jackie Bradley Jr. The Sox had only three other hits all night.

At 62-9, the Red Sox remain in first place by three games. The Yankees won 2-1 last night.
