The Boston Red Sox are experiencing their first injury of the season as the team confirmed Sunday that pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez has suffered a patella subluxation to his knee.

The injury happened during Saturday's practice when he was catching a fly ball in the outfield. Rodriguez experienced some swelling in the knee but said he should be fine.

Red Sox manager John Farrell said an MRI was administered Sunday morning which revealed the patella subluxation which is a temporary dislocation of the knee cap. Farrell said Rodriguez will be out of action for the next 3 days until the swelling goes away. Farrell also said the good news is that there is no structural damage or damage to the cartilage and ligaments.
