South Berwick fighter Devin Powell has signed a deal with the Ultimate Fighting Championship and will make his debut on January 15th for UFC Fight Night 103 in Phoenix, Arizona.

Powell announced via his Facebook page on November 7th that his first fight for the promotion will be held at the event against Jordan Rinaldi in a lightweight bout.

The lightweight fighter last fought in August at the New England Fights "Looking For A Fight" card that featured UFC President Dana White in attendance.  Powell suffered a broken nose in the first round of his fight with Jon Lemke, but came back to submit his opponent later in the round to move to 8-1.

Powell was the lightweight champion of the NEF at the time of the signing by the UFC and runs his own gym in Somersworth, New Hampshire called Nostos MMA.

Rinaldi is 12-5 in his pro career and will be fighting in his second bout for the promotion.  He lost his last time out against Abel Trujillo in May of this past year.  Powell has not lost since December of 2013 when he was defeated by Bruce Boyington of Young's MMA of Bangor.
