The Husson University Eagles used lots of pound and ground to defeat Alfred State(NY) 44-2 Saturday afternoon to collect their first win of the season.

The Eagles racked up 411 yards of total offense - 356 of those were rushing yards.

RB John Smith led with 184 yards on 29 carries. He scored three touchdowns.

Logan Steward had 128 yards and a touchdown.

While Husson's offense was grinding it out, the defense stifled Alfred State to just 41 total yards.

Kenny Sweet had three interceptions as the Eagles totaled four turnovers.

The (1-1)Eagles now are idle for two straight weeks before playing their ECFC opener, a  home game against Castleton State on October 3rd.
