A Staceyville man is facing charges of furnishing a place for minors to consume alcohol after an early morning accident in Sherman.

At around 6:44 a.m. Saturday, State Police were called to a crash on the Benedicta Road in Sherman.  The vehicle apparently left the roadway and struck a utility pole breaking the pole and requiring the assistance of the power company.

The investigation revealed 18-year-old Nichole Goguen of Houlton was operating a 2004 Ford truck, which was registered to her parents, and traveling South on the Benedicta Road. Also in the vehicle was 24-year-old Cody McNally of Stacyville and 18-year-old Breanne Briggs of Houlton.

All three were wearing seatbelts and sustained minor injuries, but the truck was totaled.

The cause of the crash appears to be alcohol related and a subsequent investigation led to 24-year-old Cameron McNally of Stacyville being charged with furnishing a place for minors to consume alcohol.
