A serial killer told the FBI, back in 2012, that even though he may have killed some people, the “Canadians don’t count.”

Last year, police arrested 34-year-old Israel Keyes in connection with the murder of an 18-year-old girl in Alaska. During an FBI interrogation, Keyes confessed to killing two people in Vermont and gave some indication that he may have committed nearly 11 other murders across the United States.

However, during the same interview, Keyes also suggested that any Canadians he might have killed throughout the years didn’t count. Unfortunately, there will never be any way of knowing for sure if Keyes was kidding because he committed suicide in an Alaskan jail while awaiting his murder trial.

The FBI says they suspect Keyes was responsible for killing people across the U.S., and maybe Canada, for over a decade.
