The Central Aroostook Panthers of Mars Hill hosted their closest rivals, the Bears from Easton in girls and boys action Tuesday.

In the girl’s game, Maci Beals drilled five 3 point baskets on her way to a game high 17 points in the Lady Panthers 54-21 victory. Kassie Levesque chipped in 11 points for the 6-2 Central Aroostook squad. Coach Dillon Kingsbury’s Panthers will play Van Buren on Friday. The Easton Lady Bears were led in scoring by Delaney Leach with 11 points, they will face the Katahdin Cougars on Thursday.

During the boy’s game, the Panthers pulled away from the visitors in the 3rd quarter on their way to their sixth win of the year. Central Aroostook was led by Ben Thomas with 19 points and Ethan Prior put in 13 points. They move to 6-1 on the year and will host Fort Kent on Friday. The Easton Bears fell to 5-4. They were led in scoring by Collin Sotomayor with 10 points and will next play Wisdom.

The Cushman and Son’s Players of the game was Maci Beals for the girls and Shane Stackpole’s effort down low earned him the award for the boys game.
