A school bus carrying a half-dozen students was involved in a three-vehicle traffic accident Monday morning on Victoria Street in Edmundston.

The crash happened shortly after 8 a.m. at Exit 16 of the Trans Canada Highway, according to published reports. Edmundston Police said a car coming off the highway ramp did not stop and collided with a pickup truck on Victoria Street. The van then hit the school bus, which ended up in the snow bank. Roads were snow-covered at the time.

No one was hurt in the collision, police said. Paramedics were called to the scene to check on the well-being of a child who was in the car.

This intersection has been deemed dangerous after a number of accidents in recent years. Traffic lights are expected to be installed next spring.
